Highlights
There have been well-documented reports about the occurrence of parkinsonism after viral infections.
10 studies including 13 patients reported the development of parkinsonism in individuals who recovered from COVID-19 infection.
The commonest symptom of parkinsonism reported in these individuals was cogwheel rigidity 84.6%.
53.8% of individuals fully recovered and had their symptoms resolved after treatment.
